From Christmas markets, frosty woodland walks and the annual pantomime to the magical Santa Express, plus a fantastic mix of independent shops, bars, pubs and restaurants, there's no better place to enjoy the season.

To celebrate, we've partnered with a range of brilliant local venues to bring you the 12 Days of Charnwood Christmas Competition. One lucky winner will receive 12 incredible prizes, offering the perfect start to the festive period.

By entering in the competition, it is deemed that entrant has accepted the terms and conditions detailed below. The competition is open anyone living in the UK, but exclude all Charnwood Borough Council employees, councillors and their relatives.

- The council reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants, and the prize may be withheld until the council is satisfied with the verification.

- Entries should be submitted via www.discovercharnwood.co.uk/competition

- Third-party entries or bulk entries will not be accepted and it is one entry per person.

- Each competition prize may have its own terms and conditions which will be published on this page.

- The winner will be chosen at random after the competition closes at midnight on Sunday, 14 December.

- The winner will be notified by email or phone after the competition closes.

- The winner could be featured on Discover Charnwood and Charnwood Borough Council's communication channels including social media, local media and news outlets.

- The winner may also be featured on partner communication channels including the businesses which have partnered with Discover Charnwood to provide competition prizes.

- The prize is awarded conditionally upon acceptance and if the winner is unable to be contacted after 14 days or if any prize is unclaimed or declined within a reasonable period, the prize shall be deemed as unclaimed or unaccepted and a supplementary winner may be chosen at the council's discretion.

- The council and the businesses involved will not be responsible for any inability of a prize winner to take up the specified prizes.

- The council will not be liable for providing a substitute prize of similar value should a specified prize become unavailable for reasons beyond its reasonable control. Cash or credit alternatives will not be offered. The prize is not transferable.

- Incomplete entries and entries received after the competition closing date will be disqualified.

- Entrants' data will be collected, stored and processed for the purposes of administering and assessing competitions. The council shall take all reasonable care to ensure that it complies with its obligations under the Data Protection Act 2018. The Council's decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. The Council reserves the right to suspend, cancel, postpone or amend the competition and/or review and revise these terms and conditions.

- The Great Central Railway Santa Express runs on selected dates until Christmas Eve (Wednesday 24 December 2025). The tickets are valid for 2 x adults and 2 x children. The winner would need to claim and use their prize on, or ahead of this date, subject to availability.

- Stonehurst Farm: This voucher prize is for 2 x adults and 2 x children.

- The Hub: This voucher prize is for 2 x adults and 2 x children.

- Barrie Stephen: The winner would need to book their prize appointment at the Barrie Stephen Anstey salon before Saturday 31 January 2026. This prize is not valid in any other Barrie Stephen salon.
